About Me:

Most of these “About Me” sections are written in third person, but that feels cold, so let me just introduce myself: 

I’m Tika! A NYC-based Theatre Artist specializing in Stage Management. I also created the Instagram and TikTok page Broadway1011; a theatre history page to share my lifelong love of musical theatre history and dramaturgy. 

My goal as a theatre artist is to better reflect the world we live in. What does this actually mean? 

I am interested in creating, maintaining, and supporting diverse artistic environments. This specifically includes Managing, Producing, and/or developing work by BIPOC, Queer, Neurodivergent, and Immigrant artists.  

I have seen firsthand how the systems of oppression in the US have affected representation in the arts fields. My desire is to bring attention, and eventually monetary support, to artists who are not always given the chance to develop their work. 

My Stage Management and Directing philosophy is to create an environment in which artists feel brave enough to challenge their comfort levels and thus expand their artistic abilities. I believe empathy, curiosity, and patience are foundational to successful arts management.

Part of wanting to develop new and diverse works is meeting the artists who create them. I want to hear about your project, read your play, see your show and listen to you talk about your work!
